Blankets, Clotheslines and Carbon Dioxide
RICE researcher Dr Jennifer Rudd recently delivered a TEDx talk on duvets, blankets, washing lines and carbon dioxide.
A TEDx talk is an independently organised showcase for speakers presenting great, well-formed ideas in under 18 minutes. They cover a wide range of topics and disciplines such as education, business, science, technology, creativity etc. These talks are recorded and made freely available online for anyone to view.
Jennifer’s research involves converting carbon dioxide into fuels using a mixture of chemistry, physics, engineering and hope. She is passionate about communicating her research to the public and addressing the current climate emergency. In her TEDx talk she links blankets, washing lines, foams and blow torches in order to explain her research to the general public and encourage them to get involved.
